DEVILLE VANNIK

Born in Pretoria, South Africa, DeVille was drawn to martial arts and gymnastics from an early age. Growing up he was influenced by icons of the screen like Jackie Chan and Bruce Lee. Later DeVille discovered Parkour, and in 2009 he was cast in an international Coca Cola commercial where he performed parkour stunts across the rooftops of Johannesburg.

He went on to compete globally and represented South Africa at the Red Bull Art of Motion in the United States. DeVille went on to become one of the first coaches at the world-renowned Tempest Freerunning Academy in Los Angeles. Here DeVille had the opportunity to train with Hollywood stunt professionals and gained valuable insight and experience in performing and creating world-class action. Today DeVille enjoys working with artists and helping them find the action hero within.

DeVille pursued acting at the New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts before moving to Los Angeles in 2011. In 2012 DeVille got his stunt start as Callan McAuliffe's stunt double on Kite, a live-action adaptation of a popular Japanese anime. A role which required both parkour and martial arts. Following Kite, DeVille stunt doubled on Niel Blomkamp's dystopian sci-fi actioner, Chappie. And In 2016, he moved to Cape Town and began working on the award-winning Starz series, Black Sails. Since then DeVille has worked on numerous international films and television series. Some of his credits include Warrior, One Piece, Sniper, Maze Runner, Bloodshot, Boy Kills World, Black Mirror, and Tomb Raider.

DeVille is also a veteran of the Bollywood film industry, having stunt doubled and performed in blockbusters like War, Pathan, Jawan, and Tiger 3.  DeVille has had the opportunity to double for actors like Shah Rukh Khan, Ethan Hawke, Tiger Shroff, Richard Madden, Guy Pearce, Evan Peters and Barry Pepper.   

DeVille has an inextinguishable passion for storytelling, and has been making short films with his friends since high school. Working in the film industry around the world has given him the opportunity to learn from experts in different countries, inspiring him to create action-packed entertainment rooted in strong narrative.  Together with good friend and fellow stuntman, Reon Van Der Watt, their vision for creating outstanding action content came to life with the creation of Turbo Action and their first short film together, Ninth Life Crisis.
